Iran winning a gold medal in Mixed Taekwondo Match… Qualified for Tokyo Olympics

The Republic of Korea still maintains the first place on Sept. 2, the 4th day of 2019 Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships. (as of 12:00 Sept. 2)
 
Korea is holding first place with a total of 56 medals including 21 golds, 17 silvers, and 18 bronzes followed by Malaysia with 21 medals including 5 golds, 7 silvers and 9 bronzes.
 
Thailand, participated in Taekwondo and Muay Thai, won 11 medals including 5 golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronzes, jumping to the 3rd place. Being so strong in Wushu, Hong Kong won 4 gold medals, ranking the fourth with a total of 16 medals (including 5 silvers and 7 bronzes), followed by Mongolia taking up the fifth place with 14 medals(4 golds, 5 silvers and 5 bronzes).
 
Thailand was able to keep its pride as the original country of Muay Thai on Sept. 1, winning 3 gold medals in –54 kg class by Sakchai Chamchit, -63.5 kg by Norapat Khundamy and -71kg by Man Kongsib. In addition, Natthawat Suzikong was able to grab a silver medal in Men’s –57㎏ class and Kaewrudee Kamtakrapoom, a bronze in Women’s –60㎏.
Hong Kong made an excellent performance in Wushu held on the 2nd day. LAU Chi lung, Tak yan samuei HUI, HE Jianxin and CHEN Suijin won gold medals in Men’s Nanquan/Taijijian and Women’s Nanquan/Traditional quan category.
 
In addition, YUEN Ka Ying won a silver medal in Women’s Nanquan, KWONG Yuk Ming, a bronze medal in Men’s traditional Xing Yi Quan, YEUNG Debbie, a bronze medal in Women’s Taijiquan, and YEUNG Pui yue AU, a bronze medal in traditional Baguazhang.
Korea also did well in Wushu, winning many medals. Lee Yongmun won a gold medal in Men’s Namgun and Choi Yujeong, a silver medal in Women’s Taijijian. In addition, Lee Yonggeon and Yoo Wonhui won bronze medals in Men’s Gun and Taijijian respectively.
 
Meanwhile, Iran won a gold medal defeating Russia in Mixed Taekwondo Match held at Chungju Gymnasium on Sept. 2 and got an honor of being qualified for 2020 Tokyo Olympics*(Demonstration game).

* France(2024 host country), Japan(2020 host country), Finals of Wuxi 2019 World Taekwondo World Cup Championship and Chungju World Martial Arts Masterships to be qualified for 2020 Tokyo Olympics
